Control where Trade Ships drop your items with a placeable marker in Misc. (similar to party and caravan packing spots).
Drop Pods and Animal Pens
Vanilla picks spots outside of pens by design, I've decided to keep in line with vanilla so if you see your items dropping outside of your base, you probably have pens enclosing the drop spot.
I repeat... Animal pens will cause the drop pods to search for a spot outside the pen.==============================
Drop pods will only drop at this location for Trade Ships and Quest rewards. This does not affect random drop pod events, nor does it affect raids (enemy or friendly) coming in by drop pods.
Check out Loading In Progress for another useful Transport Pod mod.
Extra Information on Vanilla
Just to clarify to some people, the way that vanilla RimWorld determines where to drop transport pods from quests and from TradeShips is by gathering all of the orbital trade beacons you've placed and pulling from the top to check if it is a valid spot to drop it to. This means it checks if the orbital trade beacon and the cells cardinal to it are roofed, and will not allow those... but literally every other beacon is fair game, which can result in the pods going to the beacon that was placed the earliest in your playthrough. This allows you to overwrite that and send it to the drop spot marker 100% of the time. Also useful in early game when you do not have orbital trade beacons where the game will just toss your drop pods from quests to a random building piece.
