Vanilla Plants Expanded - Flowers adds a variety of new, decorative flora to your colony, enriching your gardens with a dynamic, season-based blooming system. Here is what you can expect:

- Flowers follow specific blooming schedules throughout the year. During these periods, they reach peak beauty, while outside these times, they appear as standard, basic plants.

- Plants are not static; they age over time. Older plants receive stacking beauty bonuses, meaning a well-tended garden becomes progressively more stunning as your colony matures.

- Be prepared for winter, when many flowers shed their leaves and enter a dormant state, providing negative beauty. You will need to manage your garden's health through changing temperatures.

Additionally, the following mechanics are now in play:

- Weeds Event: A unique event that can impact your garden, requiring active maintenance to protect your plants' beauty.

- Smelling Flowers: Colonists looking for recreation can now interact with blooming flowers to boost their mood.

- Minifiable Flowers: You can extract and replant your favorite flowers elsewhere, allowing for more flexible garden design as your base expands. If temperature gets too cold, you can move the plants indoors!

Vanilla Plants Expanded - Flowers adds following content to your game:

I don’t envision a lot of bugs, but if anything feels like a bug, report it using our bug reporting form. Reports in the comments section are ignored and removed.

Q: How can I plant the new flowers?
A: First, you need to research horticulture. Then, you can either plant them in flower pots, or in brand new Blooming Flower zones.

Q: Won’t colonists just harvest them?
A: No, they are not harvestable. Once planted, they will stay there forever.

Q: Can I add it to an ongoing save?
A: Yes of course!

Q: Marigold says it helps against insectoids. How?
A: A room with a blooming marigold will never be chosen as an infestation target!

Q: How does this mod work if I settled in permanent summer biome?
A: It simply follows the northern hemisphere dates in regards to blooming. Decembrary is winter, Aprimay is spring and so on.

Q: Can these flowers be used in some sort of alchemy or something?
A: No, it was always meant to be a simple mod. It adds beautiful flowers that your colonists will enjoy the sight of.

Q: Will you add more flowers in the future?
A: Maybe, so if you’re interested in some particular flower, leave a comment and maybe we will get around to it!

Q: These flowers are not realistic.
A: Newsflash, it’s a mod! We favor gameplay simplicity over realism.

Q: What determines the color of hydrangeas?
A: It’s chosen at random for the specific map and will always remain that.

Q: What’s your favourite flower Oskar?
A: Has to be the Strelitzia. They always look so beautiful but I don’t have the balls to buy them for my house.

Q: Do these flowers work with Apiaries from VFE-Medieval 2?
A: Of course they do! When a flower blooms, it counts as 4 flowers for the purpose of an apiary!
