◆ Modern Empire Tab ◆
The Empire screen from Vanilla Factions Expanded – Empire, rebuilt as a floating, resizable, dark-flat window in the style of the Modern / Nice tab suite. The Great Hierarchy becomes a pannable, zoomable org-chart of the Empire's nobility; Permits, Vassalage, and Honors are all reskinned to match. Presentation only — every action runs VFE–Empire's own logic underneath.✦ The Great Hierarchy
- Top-down org / lineage tree — the Emperor at the top, each rank a row of portrait node-cards wired to the rank above, instead of a flat side-scroll.
- Pan & zoom — drag to move, scroll to zoom (40–200%) toward the cursor; zoom out for a clean portrait-only overview. The view is remembered, and first opens centered on the Emperor.
- Your nobles glow gold — colony colonists who hold an Imperial title get a soft gold glow on their card edge, standing out from Empire NPCs.
- Click to act — click your colonist to jump the camera to them; click an Empire noble to invite them for a visit (honor cost and all). Jump-to-rank buttons and a search box round it out.
✦ Permits, Vassalage & Honors
- Permits — the royal permit tree redrawn flat, with prerequisite lines and colour-coded nodes (unlocked / available / locked), a detail card, and the points + return-all footer.
- Vassalage — current vassals with delivery bars and tithe settings, potential vassals in a grid with range checks, and a built-in mini-map: click a settlement to recentre it, click the map to jump there.
- Honors — drag honors onto a noble to assign, drag them back to remove; pending honors tint gold.
- Flat scrollbars throughout, matching the suite.
✦ Quality of Life
- Always-show option — keep the Empire tab available even before you have a titled colonist, so you can browse the hierarchy at any time (toggleable).
- Floating, resizable, borderless window with a clean flat close button.
- Layout measured at runtime — UI-scale and tiny-text friendly.
- Safe to add or remove mid-save; stores no data of its own.
✦ Requirements
- Vanilla Factions Expanded – Empire — required. This mod re-skins its screens; it does nothing on its own.
- Vanilla Expanded Framework and Harmony — as required by VFE–Empire.
✦ Compatibility
- No Harmony patches — the entire mod is XML class-swaps on VFE–Empire's own defs, so it slots in cleanly.
- Conflicts only with another mod that replaces the same Empire screens.
Built for RimWorld 1.6. The Empire, the modern way.
